China-ASEAN Rail Infrastructure Expansion Summit

The CARI2020 will take place on October 29-30 at Kunming, Yunnan, China, meeting language is Chinese. Based on successful completion of the previous five summits, the coming closed-door summit will gather more than 100 experts from rail transit operators, equipment/system service providers, material suppliers, engineering contractors, research institutions, associations, colleges, consulting, certification... etc. To discuss the new technologies, new challenges, and new opportunities brought by the "New Infrastructure", the regional limitations and risk control in the cooperation of the Belt and Road international rail projects!

Background

The Asia-Pacific railway market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, with approximately 40,000 kilometers of railway projects being planned or under development. Infrastructure development is essential to improve ASEAN connectivity and promote sustainable growth. Recently, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia have approved many rail transit infrastructure projects. According to data from the Asian Development Bank, 10 ASEAN member countries will spend US$2.76 trillion on infrastructure between 2016 and 2030, demonstrating the huge potential of the ASEAN rail transportation market.

March,2020, the “New Infrastructure” which “will accelerate the construction of state major projects and infrastructures, 5G networks, data centers, and rail transit construction” has attracted much attention.
